TZE

Implementer

The Technology Centre for Energy (TZE) is an institute of Landshut University of Applied Sciences. From a technological perspective, TZE develops short- and long-term energy storage solutions in its laboratories. At the systemic level, TZE works on integrated solutions for the deployment of renewable energy, for example through energy system simulation and modelling. The third pillar focuses on social aspects. In cooperation with local partners, such as the District of Passau, TZE analyses regional needs for a socially just and economically viable energy transition.

As a research institution, TZE contributes to capacity building among students as well as regional partners, including municipal stakeholders. Capacity building forms part of several ongoing and completed projects and is implemented through direct cooperation with local partners. TZE also promotes knowledge creation among the wider public through public events (e.g. the Landshut Energy Talks and open days). Furthermore, it is part of TZE’s mission to connect regional stakeholders, including municipal decision-makers, agricultural actors, SMEs, business support organisations and research institutions.

Currently, TZE is implementing around 20 projects at the regional (Bavaria), national and international levels.
